Thursday’s opening night looks set to be cycle starry. Serial author Richard Moore will be there punting his new book – like he did in today’s Scotsman!
Star of Standing Start, Craig MacLean will be there (maybe). World travelling star Mark Beaumont is expected – so is one-hour star Graeme Obree.
Film directors Finlay Pretsell, Adrian McDowall and Peter Carr are due. Track star Chris Hoy will definitely be absent. He’s dining in Glasgow and could well pick up the “Outstanding Male Athlete” prize at the Commonwealth Sports Awards.
